Where Integrity and Good Work Still Matter

Karmachanics has been part of the neighborhood since 1971, when Tom Davis opened the shop with a simple mission: to fix cars honestly. Fresh out of high school and working in gas stations and repair shops, Tom quickly discovered that telling customers the truth about what their cars really needed wasn’t popular with his bosses. After getting fired more than once for doing the right thing, he decided to start a place where honesty came first — and Karmachanics was born.

In 2005, Carlos joined the team. At the time, he worked for an asbestos company and was struggling to get his own truck fixed. One repair shop charged him $500 for a “bad fan clutch” that turned out to be just a fuse. Frustrated but inspired, he started helping Tom after hours to learn how to do things the right way. Before long, Tom offered him a full-time job. Twenty years later, Carlos is still here, carrying on the same commitment to honesty and quality that started it all.
